About

Mr. Ojo has more than three decades experience of active legal practice Nigeria. He holds a Masters Degree in Law from the University of Lagos, and is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Over the years, he has worked with some of the top law firms in Nigeria, and for a number of years until recently, was with one of the leading and largest corporate/commercial law firms in Nigeria. In those years, he was part of the team that handled various merger, acquisition and corporate restructuring schemes. These include restructuring of UAC of Nigeria Plc (“UACN”), scheme of arrangement by means of which the investment properties of UACN were transferred to UACN Property Development Company Plc, (“UPDC”), merger of PZ Industries Nigeria Plc. with Thermocool Nigeria Limited, Merger of Total Nigeria Plc. with Elf Oil Nigeria Limited, restructuring of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc etc.

Furthermore, he has handled varied and complex commercial litigation, representing and providing support for local companies and multinational corporations in various sectors, including banking and other financial services, manufacturing, shipping, energy, oil and gas, telecommunications, aviation etc before various courts and tribunals in Nigeria; preparing the relevant court processes and obtaining the requisite court sanctions for various corporate restructuring schemes; preparing and reviewing contracts and other legal documentation; rendering legal opinions, writing reports, preparing memoranda and documents in the areas of oil & gas law, contracts, banking and finance, telecommunication, aviation, arbitration and other areas of alternative disputes resolution; providing critical support to, and appearing for and with multinational clients in hearings before committees of state houses of assembly, the House of Representatives and the Senate; successfully representing clients, local and multinationals, in discussions with the Government on compliance issues; generally overseeing and managing the litigation portfolio and other affairs of some corporate and multinational clients of the firm.

He has provided quality and satisfactory advice and support to local and foreign clients in various and several instances. Mr. Ojo belongs to the Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association, Chartered Institute of Arbitration (United Kingdom) and Chartered Instituted of Taxation of Nigeria.
